The Institute for Systems biology needed a logo for an event celebrating the birthday of its founder. They wanted something elegant and celebratory, with connection to the existing ISB identity. The resulting logo nestled the ISB logomark within a playful, fireworks-like burst.

The event featured both a scientific symposium, where scientists were the primary audience, and a gala, where the audience was expanded to include benefactors and contributors. The symposium materials played up the scientific design elements, while the gala pieces had more of a celebratory look and feel.
